On the recording you should be the only one singing, and you should sing without accompaniment. The recording should be unedited and unprocessed, and needn’t be studio quality. A recording made on your phone is fine, for example.

Begin the recording by introducing yourself and telling us the date on which the recording is made. You may sing the melody in any key that's comfortable for you. Sing expressively, with good rhythm and intonation, demonstrating your best choral singing. We’re not looking for soloistic singing here. Practice the melody until it's comfortable; record it when you're ready.
