DECEMBER 5 | 7:30PM
FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH • PASADENA
an American oratorio for the winter solstice by Shawn Kirchner
The Light of Hope Returning weaves a midwinter narrative of readings and music of the season, some familiar and some newly composed, all enticingly reimagined by composer Shawn Kirchner.
The Chorale will be accompanied by a small band of instruments including piano, strings, flute, saxophone and dulcimer, and will be joined in song by the newly formed High Notes, a treble choir of two dozen students from Pasadena area middle schools.
While tickets are offered at no cost, donations are strongly encouraged and a ticket reservation is required to attend the concert.
